After five years of living in Prince Albert, singer/songwriter Madeleine Barnard aka “Mads” will be launching her new CD, Mother City Jazz/Small town Blues on Saturday 21 December at 8 pm at the Showroom Theatre.
The songs share the story of her big move from Cape Town to the small Karoo town of Prince Albert and of the process of adapting to her new life – the joys, the insecurities, the homesickness and the humor.
The music covers the whole spectrum from jazz to blues to ballads, with a smidgen of rock ‘n roll thrown in for some spice.
For some of the songs Mads will be supported by her friends from Unity Male Voices, the critically acclaimed vocal group from Prince Albert that stole the show at the 2018 Suidoosterfees choir competition. They performed with her once before in the much-loved 2016 concert Summertime. Songs will be sung in English and Afrikaans.
Tickets are R120pp and can be booked at The Showroom Theatre or online.
